With the somewhat-recent breakup of my favorite band The Men Who Control the Weather, I began to reread into some of the things the lead singer-Johnny "Boomboom" Taylor had written.

He's so articulate (except when he's drunk) that I just always want to listen to him and read what he writes.

One of the things was this:

"Isn't it pretty nutty if you come to realize that you've gotten so good at getting over things that life is just a big series of getting over one thing after another.

Then you realize that you're only good at it because you have to do it too much.

Then you kind of pride yourself on it. You welcome problems, illnesses or women, just so you can get over them.

Then you realize that there are certain problems, illnesses and women that maybe you can just never get over. Then you think, "am I really that good at getting over things?"

Isn't it nutty?"

and...I just love it--it has such meaning that I can't help but read it over and over again.

But, I'm pretty sad now that I won't be able to get the chance to really talk to him in person again because I really only got to at their concerts.

But, I totally understand why they broke up and I'm not that upset.

I just hope that someday I'll learn to play D&D because he made it look like so much fun.
